Back from the East!

Image
Miss me!? Probably not, though my page views indicate that this little blog has been viewed more than 1000 times, with at least 500 of those probably being me looking at it because I'm so impressed with the number of times I've posted! :) So, I got back late on Sunday night from an epic trip out to the Eastern coast of Canada. I was lucky enough to get sent to a Career Fair in Fredricton by my work. My friend and I decided we best make an adventure out of it, so we rented a car and headed to Moncton after we closed shop on Thursday night. It was awesome ! Pictures will be posted below. I ate a lot of seafood. I ate lobster at least 3 times. I love lobster. Period. We stayed at the Downtown Bed & Breakfast in Moncton. Linda, our host, made us french toast all 3 mornings as well as the best homemade banana bread I've ever tasted! Catch 22 in Moncton, is worth the visit as is the Pumphouse Microbrewrey - they make VERY good blueberry beer! DELISH. I ate the best cocon...

Sunday Funday!

Image
Happy Sunday Funday People! I have had a very good weekend, thank you for asking! It has been low key and very needed. I didn't end up racing in the Spartan Race which was a bit sad but it meant I got to go to Crossfit and work on some more lifts which is super cool in my life! I would like to update you that my front squat PR (personal record FYI) is 185 pounds. I managed to overhead squat 105 pounds which is pretty cool but failed at 205 pounds for my back squat. It pissed me off because I know I could do it, just lost form and was tired. Anyway, you guys don't want to hear about that crap. I love it but let's not let me go on and on and on... Silliness. (BUT I LOVE IT FYI) Weekend recap: Friday started with crossfit and I got to see Michelle was a quickie date on Friday which was lovely, and also got a visit in with some family friends. I went to Crossfit and  then got to watch a bit of rugby on Saturday. I watched my old team kick ass and win City Finals playing agai...

MUG CAKE

Hola! Don't get overwhelmed - yes... I know, 3rd post of the week! BAM. I've been tired all week. I don't want to sound like a whiny baby, but I've been really tired all week! I mean, come on... I just came back from a stellar week off. The last thing I should be is tired! Anyway - I am. I ran with Bethan on Sunday - 8km and let me tell you, she just had a baby in June and she is looking HOT. I did Crossfit the last 3 nights. 2 out of 3 workouts were great, and last night's was poop. I'm wondering if maybe I pushed myself too hard this week? The thing is, I don't want to stop, or rest, or be tired. I got on the plane this morning and fell asleep right away and tonight, I got on the plane and didn't even make it to take off...which was a disappointment, it's my favorite part! So, all of this tiredness got me to wondering... What can I do differently!? Well, I decided that I was going to cut out refined sugar (which it's Day #4 SUCCESS), so I a...

Good Day My Faithful Followers! It has been brought to my attention by the best reader EVER, that it's been a while since I've posted anything! And, I KNOW! I'm sorry Faye and whoever else here just dying to read about me! :) This summer, for the record, has been maybe the best summer of my life. In fact, I think Bryan Adams sang about this....but it was called Summer of '69.  So, it's not 1969, but it is 2012 and it is AWESOME. So just a little recap about what I've been up to: May  - Half Marathon was the big event, June - Trail Race & Vegas Trip with my Everything Friend (xoxoxox), July - Waterton Camping Trip, Stampede Fun, Stampede 7s, Rebekah's Stagette Fun, Trail Race, Mud Hero, August - Visit with my Gramps in BC, Cousin Kirby got married, and then in the next weeks.... Spartan Race &New Brunswick is coming up! This only includes the highlights, this doesn't even begin to include all of the other coo...

July Foodie Penpal!

Image
Hello Everyone! Yes, it's been a while! I'm really sorry. I've been a busy bee lately and haven't had a lot of time to sit and write something half decent. Life is good! I've been getting out and about and getting more than my fair share of socializing! A couple weekends ago, I ran 2 races in one weekend! They were both awesome. I ran another trail race  and also ran Mud Hero ! I would VERY strongly recommend them both! It was awesome! And they both kicked road running's butt anyday! I haven't been running all that much and didn't sleep much before the Mud Hero race but all and all - very happy with how everything went. So, now down to biz-nass! FOODIE PENPAL time! What!? You jerks still haven't signed up? Have I taught you nothing!? Get on it, this is all you have to do: -On the  5th of the month , you will receive your penpal pairing via email. Oh Rugby, How I've Missed You!!

Image
Seriously!? Could things get better for me? Sometimes I think so... and then I give my head a shake, kick my own ass and realize things aren't so frickin' bad! I say this because I had another waytoomuchfun weekend! OMG. Friday started off hanging with my an old friend and some of his friends for Day #1 of Stampede. I don't usually partake in the festivities but I've broken my own rules this year and have joined in like a dirty shirt. Friday started when they cooked us a massive breakfast and then we hit Nashville North (AKA Smashville North) and then I went to the Chuckwagons with some other friends of mine. Along the way, Lisa met up with me and we were lucky enough to run into one of our former teammates, Lydia! That girl is AWESOME. I had an opportunity to patch up another very missed friendship and hope that it is on the mend again. I missed you! You know who you are... xoxo So much love here! Kyla, Lydia & Lisa! Ok - so in reference to the title... Rugby...
